Biden Debate Highlights

As we gear up for the Vice-Presidential debate tonight, I'd like to say that one of the things I've enjoyed the most over the last few days is hearing conservatives talk about how sure they are that VP Biden is a "gaffe machine" and how Congressman Paul Ryan is likely to wipe the floor with him due to his superior intellect.

LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!

Let's take a little walk down debate memory lane, shall we?

Joe Biden is the one who came up with what might be the best line ever dissed out in a debate. On the receiving end...Rudy Guliani.

Think Biden overtalks things? Think again.

Can't deliver the zingers? Wrong again.

But I have to say that no matter how much I've appreciated, admired and enjoyed Joe Biden, there was a moment I fell a little bit in love with him. And it wasn't at a debate.

Sure, sometimes he pays a price for his gaffes. But its worth it because they come from the same place that does...authenticity.

  1. I had never seen that clip of Joe Biden on Memorial Day. His warmth and empathy really touched me.

As a side note, one thing that I find particularly satisfying about the Obamas and the Bidens is that their genuine interest in the well being of the people serving in the military has shattered the myth that only Republicans "support the troops." Not only that, the Republicans have seemingly abandoned it as a talking point. Mitt Romney rarely talks about those who serve.

  2. Thanks for sharing that clip of Biden speaking on Memorial Day. I am convinced that the Biden we see on TV is authentic. It is not a fake persona that he puts on show. The first time I realized that was when he was made to watch a clip of SNL parodying himself and asked to comment on it. He was laughing uncontrollably and they had to end that interview with him laughing and he only got a few words in between laughs.
