They are focused on getting re-elected in 2012. As Dorothy stated, they want President Obama to put his neck on the line while they either cower in the background or attack him after he presents his plan to them. I'm kind of glad that the president has taken a backseat to Congress on the issues of the budget and the deficit. Steve Benen is right. The president shouldn't have to do his job and Congress' job. The Constitution mandates that the budget, and therefore, the deficit, are to be handled by Congress, so it's time for these senators to stop whining and get to work and fulfill their constitutional duties. Also, iirc, the president already laid out his plans for dealing with the budget and the deficit earlier this year because I remember reading about it on several blogs.majiinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163441833245663827.post-36914669741101380512011-03-27T16:40:04.414-05:002011-03-27T16:40:04.414-05:00One more thing...

So perhaps they should think about how they can get their own house in order.Nancy LeTourneauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12614317154146836694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163441833245663827.post-46244710665558251962011-03-27T16:35:26.715-05:002011-03-27T16:35:26.715-05:00Thanks dorothy.

It is those cowardly senators and house members who want the president to take the fall for tough decisions they are supposed to make. They do this all the time. The president should be involved in this, over and over and over and over again. Thanks.dorothy rissmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05740199635414659984noreply@blogger.com
