Furthermore, noone of these critics like Begala have any alternative other than to chant 'fight' or some such bullshit. PBO is winning by doing it HIS way, and they are mad because of it.

ebogan63Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163441833245663827.post-82701229454136056552013-03-05T11:36:18.133-06:002013-03-05T11:36:18.133-06:00The core premise that all these pundits seem to be...The core premise that all these pundits seem to be operating under is that the Republicans of today are like the Republicans "back in the day." That is, that they'll "come around" if only the President would negotiate or take a firm stand. That is, that their pronouncements are just for public consumption before they cut a deal.

The actual reality, which Ezra Klein had a rude awakening to, is that the Republicans really aren't going to negotiate, no matter what the President does. That's what the public sees as well, and is why the President has much higher approval ratings than Congress - and the public is backing the President instead of the Republicans. Funny,...Obama negotiates too much with Republicans? Funny, coming from a former advisor to Mr. "Republican Light" himself, Bill Clinton. How is Obama too weak against Republicans when his boss agreed to the dismantling of Glass-Steagal and Welfare Reform?

Smarty Pants - always remember under almost any criticism from Begala of Obama is that meme that 'Big Dog' Clinton would do it better.

Also, I think its safe to say that Obama isn't overly concerned about what the Beltway grand pubhas of the Professional Left. He's proven that he can get things done (really big things) in spite of them.LACoincidentalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07529463652136455230noreply@blogger.com
