Three things struck me. 1) Successful, intelligent IT experts temporarily left their companies and their families and dedicated their lives to fixing the problems. 2) These brilliant people did this because they believed in healthcare for all Americans and in Obama's mission. 3) Mainslimer Steven Brill just had to jab PBO at the end of the article for supposedly not showing enough appreciation to the team.

My point here is that while Chuck Toddler Americans hate Obama because he isn't fixing their unresolved daddy issues, smart people with hearts focused time and energy because they believed they could help him make a difference in people's lives.

Also, since I'm a process geek who enjoys figuring out "how things work" and what behaviors support successful outcomes, I really enjoyed reading about the group's dynamics and processes. Harvard Business School should use story for a business case study.Kathleennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163441833245663827.post-75237013862679050602014-10-24T16:57:17.834-05:002014-10-24T16:57:17.834-05:00When it comes to the media, style always trumps su...When it comes to the media, style always trumps substance.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163441833245663827.post-21813617276686868282014-10-24T12:35:30.639-05:002014-10-24T12:35:30.639-05:00Thanks Tien Le.

It would be one thing if a president wasn't just ignoring emotional needs, but was also ignoring the problem altogether. But Green makes clear that's not the case. So...Welcome back! You were missed. Nice work, too.
So...what is it about needing a President to respond to the country's manufactured emotional needs anyway? I can't wrap my head around the need at all. I agree with you: it is far more important to solve a crisis than react to a crisis. Bush 'reacted' to our emotional need for revenge after 911...how'd that work out for anyone other than profiteers? Joshua Green has a fundamentally flawed premise--that our emotional needs should be met by Presidents. I just keep shaking my head, mystified by these folks. Tien Lenoreply@blogger.com
