The 2010 & 2014 midterms are examples of this. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163441833245663827.post-38587378921724744522015-01-31T09:56:35.945-06:002015-01-31T09:56:35.945-06:00So...the ONLY reason that PBO won is because of th...So...the ONLY reason that PBO won is because of the black vote? And, what...? PBO hasn't been about giving more access to all to the "corridors of power"? And, of course, black people are not "working people". As I recall it, Boo has been about talkin' this mess, too. Webb isn't going anywhere close to being nominated as he has about all the charisma of stale bread. Dude looks and sounds like he has perpetual, PAINfull, hemorrhoids. WHY, as all of us are asking, return to the past when, in fact, a winning coalition is already in place?? To me, the matter of a goodly number of alleged Democratic white males not voting for PBO is the exact same as why Republican white males wouldn't vote for him, either. PBO challenges the deeply believed but VERY false notion of white male superiority. PBO has and continues to explain the stupidity of voting against oneself. They don't want to hear that. Can Elizabeth Warren do a better job of beating this stupidity out of them as she's white? To me, perhaps some. But, she's a SHE. These same guys don't like that, either, as demonstrated in their ire against Mrs. Clinton when she was "just" the First Lady. I agree with Pierce. The evidence is there for all to see in terms of the approaches made and their current end result. These guys themselves have to connect the dots. That they will give credit that the black guy is a damn good leader and has been and continues to show the way remains to be seen. But, if these "smart" Dems want to see it alllll go away, they should listen to Webb. Republicans have proven that they really don't need ANY minority votes (HOPEfully, our Latin breth and sisteren will FInally figure this out) to win. Not the Dems, though.

Tien Le, they're there. Just remember what Bill and Hillary did back in '08 re: South Carolina and Pennsylvania. Those were butt naked racist groveling appeals. That did NOT work. Having said that, the Democratic party does need to get its act together. As much as I like her, Ms. Wasserman-Schultz has been a disappointment as head of the DNC. If we're gonna win, eNOUGH of being ashamed of the aMAzing good that has been accomplished (because the black guy did it). This approach WORKS and benefits SO many more Americans. Dems can continue to win if they go FORWARD with courage as the coalition shall grow. But, if they don't....

We shall see...Blackmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163441833245663827.post-176186049910310012015-01-31T01:58:56.952-06:002015-01-31T01:58:56.952-06:00"That bolded sentence really caught my eye th..."That bolded sentence really caught my eye though. Quite the OPPOSITE. Unions got this clear many moons ago. I am appalled by what Webb is saying not just for the 'we did the Black thing' issue but the embedded notion that working families don't have the same issues and cannot care about each other's pain that comes from different places. I've never met one in real life. Doesn't in any way resemble the Democratic party I'm part of.Tien Lenoreply@blogger.com
