In order to actually remain on twitter, I had to reduce the amount of noise (i.e., # of tweets) that was coming through. I unfollowed WAY more Hillary supporters than I did Bernie supporters. Last week you un-followed me, I am assuming it is because I am supporting Bernie Sanders and not Hillary. It saddens me to see people that I have followed and respected for years un-follow me because we have chosen 2 different Democratic candidates. <> @Oopsieee <br />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7163441833245663827.post-24426130743441860012016-05-20T11:50:48.116-05:002016-05-20T11:50:48.116-05:00The cyclical cycles of politics is part of societi...The cyclical cycles of politics is part of societies change. Republicans (Lincoln) started a new party based on freeing the slaves. One hundred years later, Republicans were the obstacle to black's rights in law. And today fight against any rights for minorities. Democrats were the party of Jim Crow laws, but now fight for all minority rights. Both succeeded at their time. To me, that just showed politicians following the whim of public thinking to ensure their reelection. Now it seems what the public wants is not their major motivator. One reason, they can get elected with minority views because only a minority of Americans vote. Democrats may win the White House, but Republicans rule the Congress, States and communities. It's always the young that change politics, which is why an amendment to the Constitution that lowered the voting age to 18 was a good sign. Now if they would only go out and vote.
