Sure he wants to empower the little guy, but he also very much presses the message that Wall Street is the enemy, corporate America is the enemy, Republicans are the enemy, and (depending on the day) Democrats are the enemy too. That is all "Power Over / Against".

Let's explore this. If corporations are truly the enemy, then you, as a bright-eyed young revolutionary, have an obligation first and foremost to not collaborate with the enemy. That means, except where mere survival is concerned, you may do no business with corporate America. In other words, no iPhones or computers, no car loans, no ibuprofen when you have a headache, none of the poisonous fruits of big business.

Does that sound unreasonably harsh? Well then perhaps you (again, the fresh-faced young revolutionary) have just learned something: big business isn't the enemy, and in fact it improves your life in a lot of ways. What you need to be focused on is curbing the EXCESSES of big business. That's why I like, for example, Hillary's plan to fine banks for the dangerous combination of size and risk, rather than making like big banks are monsters that must be destroyed because of their size.

Something else too, and for this you are no longer the the reolutionary but The Man. If a presidential candidate pledges that he is going to destroy your business if he attains power, you have every incentive to do everything in your power to stop him. You might not be thrilled with Hillary's plan to regulate you, but you can at least live with it. So as with most Sanders plans, he is choosing the route that attracts the greatest degree of opposition while offering little that couldn't be achieved by other means.King Beauregardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04043228078537079759noreply@blogger.com
