Baggers of Tea and Fire

First of all, I have to give credit to Extreme Liberal for the title. He used the phrase the other day and I've been trying like hell to find a way to work it in somewhere. LOL

Anyway, I just thought I'd pass on a few laughs I got today from a couple of the excellent blogs over to the left. I've always said that I'm WAY to earnest to be funny, but every comedian needs an audience. So I'll gladly play that role. I would literally die without humor in my life. And these days its even more important.

As for the baggers of fire, how bout imagining them as teenage valley girls writing to their diary? Yup, that's what AdLib has done over at PlanetPOV. Go check it out and see if you don't think he like TOTALLY nails it!

When it comes to the baggers of tea, of course no one is better at taking them on than Jim at Stonekettle Station. I'll give you the end (which ties in quite nicely with the baggers of fire BTW), and then you can go read the hilarity he spreads to get there.

So, where’s that leave us?

Extremists, paranoids, religious nuts, know-nothings, the usual conservative sexual bugaboos, moralizers, hair gel, war mongering, flying monkeys, and the second coming of Ross Perot.

Forty years ago Republicans were serious men in white shirts and somber ties, the guys with the buzz cuts and slide rules, scientists and engineers who got us to the moon and back – while the liberals danced naked in the Age of Aquarius dreaming their hippy dreams and rubbing magic crystals to cure their case of the clap.

Honest to Cthulhu, folks, what in the hell happened to the GOP?

  1. Smartypants I just read Stonekettle Mountain's latest blog. He is the greatest. I have him on FB and pass him along to all my relatives that are smart enough to get his comments. I read him, you and a lot of the pragmatic progressive sites. It keeps my sanity. Roberta in MN
