At a campaign appearance here on Saturday morning, Mr. Santorum described the “president’s agenda” as being “not about you. It’s not about your quality of life. It’s not about your job.”(Emphasis mine)
“It’s about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology. But no less a theology,” Mr. Santorum said, to wide applause.
Can we hold up on the false equivalency about negativity in campaigns and the politics of personal destruction until we hear President Obama question Mr. Santorum's religious faith? Because that is definitely NOT going to happen.
Letting folks like Santorum get away with crap like this on the grounds that "everybody does it" is unconscionable.
False equivalences.
ReplyDeleteIn liberal journalism today, the young reporters are taught that every side has a story and that to give an unbiased news story, you have to show each side in the light of favor. Balls.
This is not true. Banks who fraudulently steal peoples houses shouldn't have their side shown. Rapists don't have a side. People who swear to uphold the constitution and fly a traitors flag do not have the right to a hearing of the population ... just to a judge and jury.
Wonder if someone will ask Santorum about his 2008 remarks, in which he said that mainline Protestantism in under Satan's control: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/santorum-satan-systematically-destroying-america
