Conservatives: Drop the "F" word (updated)

No, I'm not talking about THAT "F" word. I'm talking about his one.

Because President Obama has FINALLY unveiled his socialist communist agenda! (warning: wingnut link)
The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates...

The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.
I kid you not.

Once you've stopped laughing at this latest attempt at the right's particular brand of language distortion, you might consider whether or not this use of the "F" word has anything to do with going the opposite direction of where the wingnuts want to take us. Simply put...

UPDATE: Ed Kilgore has some tongue-in-cheek fun with this one.
As Morton might have also read in Wikipedia, the word “Forward”—in English, not in German—has a long-standing association with the sports of basketball, soccer, and ice hockey. Indeed, people playing the Forward position often score goals, making it attractive to impressionable young people. Is it possible that Obama—long known for his ties to the game of basketball in particular—has chosen a slogan that will encourage youth to transfer their affections from sports to politics—from all-American competition to European-style class struggle?

Legitimate concerns about this question may haunt the Obama campaign until its crushing defeat next November.
Oh-No's - he's corrupting our youth!!!!

  1. You know what other word has been used a lot by political movements throughout history? The word "The". It's a dead giveaway that people are up to no good.

Thanks for my morning fix of wingnuttery. They use words! Be afraid! Sheeze.

    1. Ohhhhh, I'll have to be on the (oops) lookout for that "t" word!

I think it helps to laugh. These folks certainly are dangerous...but they're also funny.

  2. I'm drained of my ability to be astonished at wingnuttia's unremitting condemnation of anything this president does or says. Now we have the GOP's hysterics over the word "forward," because they're too stupid and consumed with rage to understand it many nuances and meanings?

Intercourse them and the penguins they flew in on.

  3. 'Afternoon, Ms. Pants

And, as Kilgore also points out, "Forward" is the state slogan of Wisconsin.

I paraphrase, again, alumnus Lee's analytical words: "They got NOTHIN'!!!!!!!"
