Bust a myth

Is it true that there are more black men in prison than there are in college?

Bust some more myths at Janks Morton's 10 Days of Black Truths.

  1. Panels 4 and 5 are especially striking -- that blacks are actually enrolled in college at a higher rate than whites are. I had no idea, and I doubt most people do. A great counter to the dehumanizing crap that's out there in the mass public mind.

  2. This is awesome! I saw some stats back in the late '90s about the increase in college attendance rates since the 1970s by race and gender. Basically, every group had increased except white men, who had declined slightly. But the largest increase was for black women, who had increased college attendance by an amazing 950%.

I am so glad to see myths dispelled about black men, too!
