How successful was the DNC? It led to another Romney flip-flop

Prior to the Democratic Convention, Romney/Ryan thought that all they needed to do was utter the word "Obamacare" and voters would flock to them in droves.

But Democrats did a fantastic job of defending health care reform last week - including (but not limited to) the incredibly powerful story of Stacey Lihn's daughter.

And so today the coreless flip-flopper was at it again.
“I’m not getting rid of all of health care reform. Of course there are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I’m going to put in place,” he said on NBC’s “Meet The Press. “One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage. Two is to assure that the marketplace allows for individuals to have policies that cover their family up to whatever age they might like.”...

Asked on “Meet The Press” if he wants to repeal those two popular provisions of the law, Romney said, “Well, of course not. I say we’re going to replace Obamacare. And I’m replacing it with my own plan. And even in Massachusetts when I was governor, our plan there deals with pre-existing conditions and with young people.”
Of course his Massachusetts plan dealt with those things...because it had a fucking MANDATE to pay for them!!!

But beyond all that, this is a clear concession that the Democrats did some major damage to the Romney/Ryan campaign last week. Those howls you're hearing today are from the Republican base, who just got thrown under the bus on this one.

  1. And he will continue to throw the republican base under the bus. After all, he is a moderate republican.
