Photo of the Day: "Smiling Native American Women Warm the Heart"

I just loved this title and photo today: International Women's Day 2013: Smiling Native American Women Warm the Heart.

The significance of the day was evident on the smiles of faces of the American Indian women on hand at the US Department of the Interior's Sidney R. Yates Auditorium where President Barack Obama signed the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013, commonly known as VAWA.

The smiles were on the faces of the Native women because VAWA contained tribal jurisdiction provisions that are now part of federal law.
