No Drama Obama

In case some folks might need a reminder - here's the kind of man we elected president...twice.

And so, as the beltway insiders convince themselves that this guy is down-for-the-count - just remember how many times over the last 5-6 years that has been the narrative they tried to peddle. They've always been wrong.

Keep in mind that he's a counter-puncher.

We all know that President Obama isn't perfect. But he hardly needs advice from any of us at times like this because he's better at dealing with it than anyone I've seen (better by far than any pundits). And its not like he hasn't been here before.

More than anyone else, Michelle Obama knows what to expect from her husband at times like this.
Here's the thing about my husband: even in the toughest moments, when it seems like all is lost, Barack Obama never loses sight of the end goal. He never lets himself get distracted by the chatter and the noise, even if it comes from some of his best supporters. He just keeps moving forward.
Most likely those are all videos and quotes you've seen before. I just wanted to make sure that in case anyone out there is worried about any of this that THESE ARE THE MOMENTS we need to remember who it is we're dealing with.

One of the reasons why the beltway media responds to President Obama the way they do is that he doesn't give a shit about all their chatter and noise. As Michelle says - he's got his eyes on the end goal. I'd be willing to bet that right now he's more focused on things like immigration reform, a budget deal and what we're going to do about climate change than he is about all the so-called "advice" he's getting on how to handle the latest media-driven hysteria.

When we learn a thing or two from the President about that, we'll be on the road to becoming the change we want to see.

I've said this before - I've always thought this should be President Obama's theme song.

  1. Thanks for putting this reminder out there..... again, SP. I now tend to shake my head whenever 'the Pres shoulds..' start up. So many on the left pattern the MSM & the RWNJs it would be 'scary' if PBO ('s leadership example) didn't make it so easy to ignore them.

  2. Amazing that the higher ups are saying that it was the actions of lower level employees. Shows that no one is minding the store. .Resignations please
All that matters is that someone (?) issued very specific guidelines by which the determination was made to ask for donor lists, telephone records, inter-office communications, e-mails, etc. from only certain groups (conservative) claiming tax exempt status and not others. Find that person. Determine whether they just decided to issue that directive on their own (highly unlikely in low-level government employees!) or were told to do so. If they were told to do so, start on the next person up the chain. Keep working that until you get to someone with the authority and willingness, and you will have your guilty party. Whether than person was appointed by Obama, Bush, Clinton, Carter or Dwight Eisenhower is immaterial. Once you find the highest person, you fire every single person below them who either conveyed the order or executed the order. Even a 9th Grade civics student knows very well that they were doing something wrong, so they deserve to lose their job, pension, etc. for this egregious violation of public trust. And the person at the top who issued the directive? Termination AND criminal prosecution is the only satisfactory remedy.
From Article 2.1 of the articles of impeachment against Nixon:
'He has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, endeavored to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposed not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be initiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner.'

    1. Even a 9th grade civics student could read the IG report and know that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

    2. What leadership is the president showing?

    3. Bob,

I see you've ventured back. Consider this your final warning - you're off topic and further distractions will be deleted.

    4. Not off topic at all. These are the times when the President should show some leadership. We are both talking about how he is handling these new problems. Take the IRS issue for example, all he can do is fire someone who has only been there for a short time and was on his way out soon anyway! I hope he is more focused on a budget deal, it that doesn't mean he shouldn't show leadership on other issues.
