The crowd at the Republican debate

I watched the Republican debate tonight. I know there will be thousands of words said and written about how each of the candidates did and the lies they told (fact checkers are going to have their work cut out for them on this one!)

But for me the biggest impression came - not from any of the candidates - but from the crowd. When Brian Williams asked Perry a question about the more than 200 executions in the state of Texas, the crowd applauded.

I know its a Republican crowd. But still...it saddens me.

  2. I agree. I was watching the debate online and the reaction to that question actually took my breath away. I wanted to cry. Maybe I should have instead of holding it in. Or, maybe I will yet!

Thanks for your work here by the way!

  3. I'm sure, had he specified the demographics of the executed, the applause would have been even louder.
